What stays on your device

Some features need access to sensitive information. In every case below, the data is read on your phone, used there, and never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

• Contacts. The Contact Shortcut widget shows people you choose. When you grant the contacts permission, the app reads the name, photo and phone number of the contacts you select and stores them only in the app's local database, so the widget can draw itself. Clearing the app's data removes that copy.
• Photos and files. If you pick your own image as a widget background, the app reads it from your device to render the widget. The image is not uploaded.
• Installed applications. To create themed icons, the app checks which of a fixed list of well-known apps are installed, so it can offer a themed icon only for apps you actually have. The check happens on the device and the result is not sent anywhere.
• Now playing. The music widgets can show the track you are listening to. For that, Android requires notification access, which the app asks for when you add a music widget. The app uses it only to read the active media session — title, artist, cover art and whether it is playing — and to send play, pause and skip commands to that player. It does not read, store or forward the content of your notifications, and nothing about what you play is transmitted anywhere. Without this access the widget still controls playback and simply shows a neutral face; you can revoke it at any time in Android Settings.
• Device status. The battery and dashboard widgets read your battery level, free storage, and the state of the torch, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to draw themselves and to offer quick shortcuts. These readings are used on the device only.

Location and weather

The Weather widget needs to know where you are. If you grant the location permission, your coordinates are used to request a forecast from Open-Meteo, a free weather service that requires no account or API key. Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo as part of that request — unavoidable for any weather feature — and are not sent to us or stored on our servers. You can set a city manually instead, in which case device location is never used.

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and the app has no user accounts. If you write to us by email, we keep your message and address only as long as needed to answer.

Advertising

If advertising is enabled, the app will show banner and full-screen ads to users who have not purchased PRO, through Google AdMob and, where used for mediation, AppLovin MAX. Ads are never placed inside a home-screen widget.

Ad networks work by receiving a request from the device when there is space to fill. That request carries technical data — your Android advertising ID, IP address, device model, operating system, language and the ad slot involved — which the network uses to choose an ad and to count impressions and clicks. Depending on your consent and region, they may also use it to show you more relevant advertising.

You control the advertising identifier: Android Settings lets you reset it, or delete it entirely so apps receive no identifier at all. In the European Economic Area and the UK you will be asked for consent before personalised advertising is used, and you can change that choice later. Buying PRO removes advertising from the app.

What we never do

• We do not sell or rent personal data.
• We do not upload your contacts, your photos or your precise location.
• We do not place advertising inside the widgets on your home screen.

Permissions the app asks for

• Location — the Weather widget only. Optional; a manual city works instead.
• Contacts — the Contact Shortcut widget only. Optional.
• Photos and files — to use your own image as a widget background. Optional.
• Notifications — to tell you about new content. Optional.
• Notification access — the music widgets only, to show and control what is playing. Optional; the buttons work without it.
• Set wallpaper and create shortcuts — to apply a theme to your home screen.
• Internet and network state — to download content, and to avoid retrying while offline.

Every optional permission can be refused or revoked later in Android Settings; only the feature that needs it stops working.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the CCPA in California — you may ask what data relates to you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its processing. Because the app has no accounts, the practical routes are:

• Reset or delete the advertising identifier in Android Settings.
• Clear the app's data to remove everything stored locally, including selected contacts.
• Write to widgetcraftwalpapers@gmail.com and we will act on your request.

Retention

Analytics and crash data are kept by Firebase according to Google's retention settings — by default up to 14 months for event data and 90 days for crash reports. Server logs are kept briefly for security and debugging. Data stored on your device stays until you delete the widget or clear the app's data.

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you inside the app.
